Green tea is made through a process that involves harvesting, withering, heating, rolling, drying, and finally, sorting.

 Harvesting:

  • Green tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. The timing of the harvest depends on the type of green tea being produced and the desired flavor profile.
  • Typically, the youngest and most tender leaves and buds are picked by hand.

Health Benefits:

  1. Antioxidant Properties: Green tea is rich in antioxidants, such as polyphenols and catechins (like EGCG), which help combat oxidative stress and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
  2. Weight Management: Some studies suggest that the catechins in green tea may help boost metabolism and promote fat oxidation, potentially aiding in weight loss when combined with a healthy diet and exercise.
  3. Heart Health: Regular consumption of green tea has been linked to lower levels of cholesterol and triglycerides, as well as improvements in cardiovascular health.
  4. Brain Function: The caffeine and amino acid L-theanine in green tea can improve mood, focus, and cognitive function.
  5. Immune Support: Green tea contains compounds that may help strengthen the immune system and protect against infections.

Beauty and Personal Care:

  1. Skincare: Narumanam green tea is often used in skincare products due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, helping to soothe skin, reduce redness, and fight signs of aging.
  2. Haircare: Rinsing hair with green tea can add shine and improve hair health, thanks to its antioxidant content.

Cooking:

  4. Steep the Tea:
    • Place the green tea leaves into the teapot or directly into a teacup if using a tea infuser.
    • Pour the hot water over the tea leaves. Cover with a lid or a saucer to keep the heat in and steep for about 2-3 minutes.
